Dr. E. Jan Irvine Fund for Gastroenterology Resident Research and Education

The Division of Gastroenterology is focused on providing trainees with meaningful experiences in patient care and an optimal environment in which to develop research skills and techniques. One way we are achieving this is through an extended clinical research residency program that includes an additional third year of focused training. The program will help us attract top gastroenterology researchers and better prepare our graduates to enter and flourish in a competitive research environment. These funds will be used to provide salary support for the currently unfunded third year for our inaugural Research Track GI Resident (who will be the Dr. E Jan Irvine Research Resident).

This tool is not only an important piece of meeting our accreditation requirements, but is also a key tool to improving the quality of our transitions of care.
