It was wonderful to see so many of you at the dinner this year! I hope you enjoyed the evening as much as I did.   And for those of you who could not attend, I hope you will be able to join us next year.  I was pleased that many members of the hospital leadership were in attendance:  Tim and Cathy Rutledge, Sonya Canzian. Tom and Joanne Parker, Art & Myra Slutsky, as well as our University Department Chair, Gillian Hawker.  I was also very pleased that Sharon Freeman joined us as well to present the inaugural Michael Freeman Award for Integrity and Professionalism.

A reminder that all AARs were due on June 11!

After almost two decades at St. Michael’s, Dr. Arthur Slutsky, vice-president of Research and Keenan Chair in Medicine, will be retiring from his role as VP, but will continue as a researcher in our health network.

Continuing our series on our faculty members who have been recently promoted, Chris Li was promoted to Associate Professor as of July 1, 2017. Congratulations, Chris!

I’d like to update you on a change in the PIC office.  Julie Veitch has decided to pursue a new opportunity and will become the admin assistant to Dr Kevin Gough and the ID physicians as of April 30, 2018. Julie’s last day in the PIC office will be April 27.  I am pleased that she is staying within the Department of Medicine family.
