Over the course of a year, the Faculty of Medicine consulted more than 400 people, reaching out to every sector and constituency across U of T Medicine. From the input we received, we identified a guiding vision for this Faculty that focuses on the unique breadth, depth and strength of our community and the amplification of diverse voices through collaboration. The ultimate goal is new knowledge, better health and equity.

Jiwon Oh is leading a team of dozens of world-leading researchers from across Canada in a $7-million research project that aims to learn more about the progression of multiple sclerosis.  The project, announced Thursday by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and Brain Canada, is called the Proactive Cohort Study for People Living with MS (CanProCo) and will begin with the recruitment of as many as 1,000 Canadians living with the disease.

Continuing our series on our faculty members who have been recently promoted, Natalie Wong was promoted to Associate Professor as of July 1, 2018. Congratulations, Natalie!

Dr. Chris Buller has accepted a new position as Medical Director, Teleflex Incorporated, which will be effective April 2019. Teleflex (TFX, NYSE) is a multinational medical device company based in Minneapolis MN and Raleigh-Durham NC. The new position offers opportunity for Dr. Buller to influence the field of complex PCI globally, and to extend his work in medical device development. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Buller and in wishing him well in this new and exciting endeavour.
